MUSAE Project Collection

Istituto Italiano Design (IID) in collaboration with Conservatorio di Nocera Terinese

At Milan Fashion Week, the Istituto Italiano Design presents the collection of the MUSAE Project (lead partner Conservatorio di Nocera Terinese), inspired by Monteverdi’s Orfeo and Verdi’s Aida.

The garments, developed with IID’s Fashion Design Department, were assembled by Italian and Canadian students during the Fashion Style course led by Eleonora Granieri (IID), as part of an Exchange Program with JCI Vancouver.

The hats, distinctive scenic elements, were created in the Theatrical Millinery course taught by Adi Bertacchi (JCI Vancouver).

Already worn by musicians at the debut of Orfeo (Bologna, April 8, 2025) and Aida (Catanzaro, May 30, 2025), the collection blends operatic costume and contemporary experimentation.

It stands as a concrete example of how fashion, music, and performing arts can interact on an international scale, turning the runway into a creative stage without borders.

The event falls within the expenses incurred exclusively for the implementation of the project activities referred to in WP5 “Promotion of Italian culture abroad” for dissemination of Italian culture abroad under the MUSAE Project (CUP no. B71I24000080007) – PNRR, Directorate Decree no. 124 of July 19, 2023 and subsequent amendments. Reporting Guidelines. Prot. 1488 of 27.09.2024, Point no. 6.2.4.
