Brunette The Label
Miriam Alden
Brunette the Label was founded by Miriam Alden in 2014 to reflect her personal values through the products she was already selling through her wholesale business, Brunette Showroom. Miriam brings over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry, beginning her career as a fit model and working across styling, writing, retail, and wholesale before founding Brunette Showroom and later Brunette the Label in 2014. The brand quickly evolved from its first iconic sweatshirt, “Brunette is the New Black,” into a full fashion and lifestyle line that celebrates community and authentic design. As CEO, Creative Director, and female founder of Brunette the Label and Brunette Showroom, Miriam champions her trademarked “Babes Supporting Babes” mantra, building a community centred on empowerment, inclusivity, and mentorship for emerging entrepreneurs. Her vision is to uplift all babes, every day, through both her designs and her leadership. Some of Miriam’s career highlights include hosting pop-ups at Holt Renfrew, selling her collections to Nordstrom, and collaborating with Juicy Couture on a runway show. She has been featured in Elle Canada and has received both the Nancy Mak Award and the
Industry Originator Award at Vancouver Fashion Week this past year. The Nancy Mak Award has granted her the opportunity to showcase Brunette the Label at Paris Fashion Week in March of 2026. Inspired by vintage fashion, Miriam creates clothing that lasts season to season, holds a special place in your closet, and can be passed down from generation to generation. Her designs reflect a vision rooted in authenticity, community, and timeless style.
