MAKI
Makar Tsypan
The story of MAKI officially began in 2015, but its foundation was laid years earlier through the experience of its founder, Makar Tsypan. Before launching the brand, Makar gained practical knowledge working as a costume designer for music videos, independent films, and Ukrainian show business. These early years sharpened his understanding of how clothing performs not only on the body but also in narrative and cultural contexts.
From the outset, MAKI has functioned as more than a traditional label. The brand was built on a multi-city infrastructure, with headquarters in Kyiv and ateliers in Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and Kharkiv. This network allowed MAKI to grow as an ecosystem — training young professionals, preserving artisanal techniques, and investing in in-house production. The model ensured resilience during periods of disruption, including the challenges brought by the Russian invasion, enabling the brand to adapt and sustain production.
Over the past decade, MAKI has combined creative exploration with business strength, establishing itself as both a design-led brand and a reliable partner for corporate and bespoke projects. Today, as the brand marks its 10-year anniversary, it stands at the intersection of heritage, functionality, and modernity — prepared for its next chapter of growth.
