LEESLE
Hwang Yī-seul (Leesle)
LEESLE is a creator and pioneer from Korea, driven by the belief that “fashion should live and breathe on the street, not in a museum.” Reimagining the silhouette, curves, and motifs of hanbok, LEESLE transforms Korea’s heritage into coats, jackets, and dresses that define a new global language of style.
Sustainability is at the core of her philosophy. Inspired by traditional hanbok’s flat pattern-making, she developed the low-loss cutting technique RE:FLAT™ and integrates circular materials, embodying the Korean idea that “humanity is part of nature, and all things are cyclical.”
Her work has earned top honors, including the Prime Minister’s Commendation (2021) and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Commendation (2022). She has designed outfits for BTS and MAMAMOO, and collaborated with Samsung Galaxy and KIA—blurring the lines between fashion, technology, and culture.
With a devoted fandom across 50+ countries, LEESLE’s vision is to set the standard for “Korea Chic”: a style that embraces all cultures, body types, and proves Korean heritage can shape the future of fashion.
