Hu Li Qin is a Chinese designer and the Research and Development Director of XUEBAO. She joined the brand in 2005, entering the field of leather garment design and dedicating herself to material textures, cutting techniques and silhouette development. With more than two decades of experience, she combines a strong command of craftsmanship with a contemporary fashion perspective and a deep understanding of leather apparel. Drawing on her aesthetic judgement and practical expertise, she brings traditional leather craftsmanship into dialogue with contemporary style, leading the design team in creating numerous best-selling products and using original design to sustain XUEBAO’s position at the forefront of the leather apparel industry.
She specialises in four key styles: refined quiet luxury, vintage styles inspired by Chinese aesthetics, minimalist everyday workwear, and outdoor sportswear. Her designs embrace bold, structured forms, soft elegance and athletic energy. A precise understanding of leather’s characteristics informs clean, refined cuts, clearly defined lines and considered layering. For the brand’s two most recent runway presentations, she has focused on outdoor sportswear, combining the distinctive texture of leather with athletic silhouettes and outdoor-inspired elements. Her work balances material quality, comfort and personal style, meeting the dressing needs of different age groups across a variety of settings.

Following its exploration of urban sportswear and waterproof protection in Paris in 2025, XUEBAO moves from the city towards nature in Milan with its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, JINGYE. “Jing” represents cleanliness close to the body and invisible protection, while “Ye” evokes the vitality of nature and a sense of freedom. Centred on antibacterial functional fabrics and incorporating waterproof and windproof features, the collection focuses on a clean, comfortable wearing experience in different environments. Its inspiration comes from traditional ways of dressing developed in response to local climates, surroundings and lifestyles. Rather than reproducing traditional dress, it translates wrapping, layering, ties, fringes and textures into light silhouettes and modern sportswear structures. Yellow evokes sunlight, coral red conveys the warmth of life, and green recalls earth nourished by rain, giving functional fabrics an expressive palette drawn from nature. Through the protection clothing offers the body, the collection invites wearers to experience nature more freely and feel more at ease within it. “Purity in dress, freedom in nature” continues XUEBAO’s exploration of the balance between movement, protection and fashion, bringing technology closer to the body and clothing closer to nature.
