SHINO is a Japanese costume designer and art director whose creative vision is deeply rooted in Visual Kei, one of Japan’s most distinctive cultural movements. Transforming its philosophy, theatricality, and artistic expression into contemporary fashion, SHINO creates works that exist at the intersection of couture, performance, and fine art.

Self-taught as a costume designer, SHINO developed a unique visual language inspired by Gothic aesthetics, fetish fashion, medieval European craftsmanship, and Japanese Visual Kei culture. Each creation is conceived as wearable art—designed not only to dress the body, but to reveal the identity, emotion, and narrative of the performer.

In 2024, SHINO debuted at Fashion Week and launched the eponymous label SHINO, presenting collections that blur the boundaries between costume design, contemporary art, and haute couture. The brand’s philosophy, “Beyond the Mirror”, explores transformation through fashion, inviting individuals to unlock the hidden self that exists beyond appearances.

As Founder and Creative Director of DRESSenDORIS, based in Tokyo, SHINO has designed stage costumes for numerous Japanese artists, Visual Kei bands, and performers. Every piece is meticulously handcrafted to amplify the individuality and presence of the wearer, turning performance into an immersive visual experience.
