Founded by Swiss and Native American designer Mclees Mantegazza, Haus of Mclees is an emerging fashion house defined by female empowerment, ethical craftsmanship, cultural heritage, and the meeting point of fashion, music, and art. What began in London as a one-woman operation has grown into a small Notting Hill based atelier of designers and artisans, where Mantegazza’s signature hand-beading techniques and meticulous approach to craftsmanship remain central to every piece. Her creative language is deeply influenced by time spent on the Wind River Reservation with her grandfather, where an early exposure to traditional beadwork shaped her fascination with adornment, storytelling, and the power of handmade design. In just two years, the house has presented collections at Miami Swim Week and London Fashion Week, appeared in Forbes and Vanity Fair, and dressed artists including Shakira, Bombay Mami, Natasha Diggs, and Naïka.

The house’s upcoming collection, RENATUS, Latin for “reborn,” explores mental, spiritual, and physical transformation through a journey from darkness into light. Inspired by a book Mantegazza created during her master’s degree, the collection examines vulnerability, loss of self, death, reincarnation, and the beauty of beginning again. A dramatic palette of black, white, silver, and gold traces this evolution, while sculptural silhouettes, exposed forms, intricate fabric manipulation, and hand-beaded detailing reflect the tension between fragility and strength. Symbolism is woven throughout the collection through spirals, angelic references, religious imagery, Mother Nature, and motifs of rebirth and continuous transformation. Rooted in slow fashion and artisan craftsmanship, RENATUS transforms each garment into a piece of wearable storytelling—ultimately expressing the belief that rebirth can only emerge through surrender, transformation, and the courage to begin anew.
