SISIO is an independent fashion label founded in 2018 by the designer Charlotte Shao. SISIO explores surrealistic fantasy, striving to break down the coldness of technology and strike a balance between commercial and high fashion. SISIO aims to create a new chapter of Chinese traditional style, fusing it with avant-garde elements to achieve a unique and captivating aesthetic.

Charlotte Shao has graduated from two of the most prestigious fashion design schools in the world, Central Saint Martins and Parsons. Her extensive education and diverse experiences have had a profound impact on shaping her creative vision for the brand. As a graduate of Central Saint Martins and with a background in the silk industry through her father's tie group company, she developed a keen sensitivity towards fashion design from a young age. Her exposure to various fabrics has shaped her design aesthetic and principles. In 2014, she further honed her skills by attending Interlochen Arts Academy to study visual arts. In 2018, she established her own brand and company after receiving an offer from Central Saint Martins.

As a designer, she channels her life experiences, including her struggles with depression, into her work. She believes that the challenges individuals face, especially mental health issues, can be transformed into sources of motivation and inspiration. Each element of her designs reflects her personal philosophy and emotions, including her love and attachment to life.

Her goal is to reach out to individuals who are also struggling with mental health and help them understand that it's possible to overcome their fears by facing them head on. She views depression and bipolar disorder as unique gifts that grant her a heightened sense of perception and creativity. To her, creation serves as a form of therapy, a way to heal and make sense of her experiences. Through her designs, she hopes to bring comfort, hope, and a sense of healing to those who may be struggling with similar challenges.

The Heart Sutra Collection is a fusion of contemporary design and traditional Chinese elements, inspired by the teachings of the Heart Sutra. Each piece is crafted with the intention of bringing strength and peace of mind to the wearer, through the use of high-quality fabrics and impeccable attention to detail. The collection is not only a fashion line but also a tribute to the wisdom and teachings of the Heart Sutra, serving as a reminder of the power of the sutra to bring balance and serenity to one's life.
