Ariel is a fashion designer based in New York City. Technique and storytelling are the two fundamental elements of Ariel as a designer. Her work channels femininity, glamour and emotions. She is a recent graduate of Parsons the New School for Design.Throughout her years at Parsons, she has apprenticed under fashion houses like Oscar de la Renta and independent designers like Lindsay Jones. She has an in depth interest in fashion history, and her work references classics and historical anecdotes. After studying under masters in ateliers, she found her interest in the dressmaking techniques of design. Her collection is a documentation of the learning process that she is going through.
"Romance for the cynics", Ariel's debut collection is a love letter written with silk and stitches. Captivated by bridal wear and old fashioned dress making technique, the collection itself is a sonnet to modern love stories. In contrast to the fairytale happily ever after, her work captured the fragmentation and imperfection of the golden age thinkers. This collection is created for the deep rooted romanticism trapped in cynical bodies.
